How do I book a puja?

Can I book a puja for someone else?

Yes. You can book a puja on behalf of a family member. Simply enter their name and gotra in the booking form. The puja sankalp will be taken in their name.

Is online puja valid?

Yes, absolutely. Online puja is completely valid as per Vedic tradition. The sankalp (intention) is taken in your name, and the ritual is performed with full vidhi by a verified Pandit inside the temple. You witness everything live via video.

What is included in the puja booking?

All puja samagri (ritual materials) are included in the booking charges. You do not need to arrange anything separately. For offline bookings, reach the temple at least 5 hours before closing time as coordinated by the Pandit.

How much advance notice is needed?

We recommend booking at least 2-3 days in advance, especially during Shravan month, Mahashivratri and other auspicious periods when bookings fill up quickly.

Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?

Puja bookings are non-refundable as the samagri is arranged in advance. However, you may contact us to request rescheduling at least 48 hours before the puja date, subject to availability.

What is Tamrapatradhari Pandit?

Tamrapatradhari means holder of the Tamrapatra - a copper inscription certifying the ancient hereditary right to perform rituals at Grishneshwar Temple. These pandits are part of the official Bramhavrinda Sangha and have performed puja here for generations.

What is dakshina?

Dakshina is the sacred offering made to the Pandit for performing the puja. The dakshina amount is clearly mentioned on each puja page upfront - starting from Rs. 1,100. There are no hidden charges.

Can I attend the puja live online?

Yes. For all online puja bookings, you will receive a live video link through which you can witness the complete ritual in real time and participate spiritually from wherever you are.

Do you offer pujas on Mondays and during Shravan?

Yes. Mondays (Somvar) and the entire Shravan month are our most auspicious booking periods. We recommend booking well in advance during these times as slots fill up very quickly.

For offline puja, what do I need to bring?

All samagri is included. For offline puja, you simply need to reach the designated location as guided by the Pandit. Men devotees must enter the Garbhagriha bare-chested as per temple tradition.

Yes. Jalabhishek and other pujas at Grishneshwar are open to all devotees - men, women and children. There are no restrictions based on gender.

Rudrabhishek and Panchamrit Abhishek typically take 45-60 minutes. Laghu Rudrabhishek and Jalabhishek are shorter, taking approximately 20-30 minutes.
